To Edit the Calculation Method Parameters

1.      From the Tools menu, choose Options and then choose Calculation Method.

2.      Click the (No Pieces + No Bars) greater than
Box and type in the value you want to use.

This parameter defines how the program will decide which resolution of optimization method to apply.
If ( N° Pieces + N° Bars)(*) is less or equal than this parameter, then the program applies a mathematical optimization method, which enables the software package to calculate the best mathematical optimumum solutions (mathematical optimums).
If not, the program applies a quick and efficient approximation method. That is because the mathematical optimization method is based on analysis of all feasible cutting patterns. A greater number of pieces input generates much greater number of feasible patterns (this can easily reach millions). This can take such amount of time and memory resources that could be impossible to reach a practical solution that way.

(*) : Note that N° pieces here refers to the number of different lengths of pieces. This quantity is shown in the pieces display
